Seasonal Ice Rental Contract 

Municipal Policies

General

1. Rental of ice time is based on a “50” minute hour. (Ice surface floods, when deemed necessary, will be conducted during the last 10 minutes of the rented hour.)
2. The person responsible shall ensure that all members keep off the ice during the resurfacing thereof and shall not go on the ice until the resurfacing has been completed. Arena attendants have been instructed to leave the ice surface uncompleted if this policy is violated.
3. Teams must leave the ice surface promptly to help maintain our schedules.
4. The Municipality of Brighton will not be responsible for any lost or stolen goods or money, whether from a dressing room or elsewhere.
5. If you wish to play a game other than the pre-scheduled, the arena management must be notified 24 hours in advance.
6. The person responsible for renting the ice shall be responsible for all damages caused to the building, grounds, chattels and equipment belonging to the Municipality of Brighton, reasonable wear and term considered. The said damages are to be repaired and paid for to the full satisfaction of the management of the arena. 
7. The Municipality of Brighton carries public liability and accident insurance for the protection of spectators and employees. The person responsible for renting the ice shall be responsible for such insurance as may be necessary for its personnel and shall assume full liability for an accident occurring in connection with the rental of ice.
8. The Municipality of Brighton reserves the exclusive right to the sale of all food and beverage concessions within the Arena. The sale of or the solicitation of any tickets, goods or commodities of any nature, whether charitable or otherwise, is prohibited without the express written consent of the Director of Parks and Recreation
9. Alcohol is not permitted in Municipality of Brighton facilities except as approved by the Director of Parks and Recreation and according to the Municipality’s Alcohol Policy.
10. All Municipality of Brighton owned facilities are smoke-free and drug-free zones.

Fees

1. Ice times rates will be assessed at the current rates as established by the Municipality of Brighton.
2. All rentals are payable prior to the use of the ice, unless otherwise arranged with the management of the arena.
3. All ice time accounts are due when rendered and are net thirty (30) days. Any outstanding accounts beyond thirty days from the date of billings shall be assessed a late payment charge on the unpaid balance (2% per month).  Lack of payment will also result in cancellation of any further ice time until the account is paid in full.

Cancellations 

1. The Arena Management may cancel ice time at any time in the event of Tournaments and Special Events. For other cancellation situations the Arena Management, whenever possible, will notify the responsible person 48 hours prior to the affected cancelled ice time.  A scheduled list of such special events will be furnished to the lessee in advance.
2. For occasional ice rentals (meaning those rentals that are not on a set day and time each week for one month or longer) cancellation notice is a minimum of 24 hours – which must be done by contacted arena management at 613-475-1162 or by email to millar@brighton.ca.
3. For seasonal rentals (meaning those rentals that are on a set day and time each week for one month or longer) an organization may occasionally return ice to the municipality by providing a minimum 5 days written notice to the arena management – which must be done by contacting them at 613-475-1162 or by email to millar@brighton.ca.
4. Any cancellations caused by storms and flooding, power failure, Act of God or business interruption caused by mechanical failure of the arena facility will be considered unavoidable and the responsible person will not be charged for cancellations of that nature.

Dressing Rooms

1. The responsible person shall ensue that the dressing rooms are vacated within 30 minutes of leaving the ice. The responsible person shall further ensure that the dressing rooms are left in a reasonably tidy condition.
2. Any electronic devices with camera capabilities are not permitted for use in the dressing room or washroom area under any circumstances.
3. The responsible person agrees that it is their responsibility to obtain a dressing room key from the arena attendant and to lock all dressing room doors before going on the ice and to notify the arena attendant immediately to report a lock that is defective lock.

Agreement

I/We have read and agree to abide by all conditions specified in this contract for use of the facility. I, the undersigned, agree to be responsible for any damages which may occur during the use of the facility. I understand that, upon finalizing, one copy of this agreement will be returned to me.
